The summer can be especially hard on all types of flooring. Here are some tips to keep your floors healthy and beautiful.
1. Use mats at every door
Wipe your feet when you come in the door! rain, sand, grass, and everything else that you track into your home can destroy your flooring. Make it simple and whip off the soles of your shoes before entering your home.
2. Clean often
Even with mats, your shoes can track in some debris. Vacuuming and sweeping your flooring with soft bristled brooms will help you a ton! Remember if you have hard wood or tile make sure to mop as well. We recommend giving your flooring a good cleaning once a week at a minimum.
3. Leave the shoes at the door
The best thing that you can do for your flooring is to eliminate and debris you can from the start, when you walk into your home... Take em off and let the dogs run free!
4. Wear house shoes
If you are the type of person who feels the need to always wear shoes, pull a Mr. Rogers and when you get home, do a quick shoe switch. Take off the outdoor shoes and put on shoes that you never leave the house with.

Natural sunlight is an amazing thing, however, it can bleach your flooring! On the hot bright summer days allow in some light but make sure to rotate which windows you are allowing in sunlight through. Limiting the time that the powerful sun blasts your flooring is very important. Your flooring can be affected just like you. You don't want to get burnt right? Then use sunscreen... Your blinds act as your flooring's blinds.
